I found Apple’s Design Flaw, Impacts Privacy and Property Rights: AppleID and Custom Domain Email
In digital world, control over your email and domain name is very important for business and personal security.
What if you buy a domain name and discover that one key email address you want to use with your domain name is locked by a previous domain name owner’s AppleID? And you cannot get your emails to that email ?
Let me explain it simpler. This is a real issue, which I discovered firsthand, points to a significant design flaw in Apple’s system. This is not only respecting new domain name owners rights, but also raises serious questions about privacy, ownership rights, and email security.
Let me break it down with a simple example:
Let’s have two business owners: Joe Marktalks and Jennifer Marktalks.
Joe purchases the domain name marktalks.com and creates an AppleID tied to the email address email@marktalks.com. Life goes on, and Joe uses this AppleID as expected, assigning his phone number and email to the account.
Fast forward a few years, Joe decides to sell the domain to Jennifer Marktalks.
Now, Jennifer is the rightful owner of the domain marktalks.com.
